A message to our valued salary and wage income tax clients

Posted On May 24, 2024

With the end of the financial year fast approaching, the team at Nortons Business Advisors is changing the way we prepare client salary and wage income tax returns.

These changes will streamline our client salary and wage income tax return process, making it easier and more efficient for you, while also allowing us to continue to maintain our high-quality, professional services.

Simplifying our client salary and wage income tax returns

For the upcoming FY23/24 tax season and beyond, Nortons will offer a ‘drop and go’ model for client salary and wage income tax returns, where you can simply deliver your records, either in-person or via email to the Nortons team. Our experienced accountants will then prepare your return within a short turnaround period (usually within two weeks.)

This model will allow you to share your records with us at a time that’s convenient for you, while also freeing up precious hours for clients who would otherwise need to schedule an in-person tax return appointment.

Note: This model will mainly apply to clients whose main source of taxable income is salary and wages, as opposed to our business clients.

Costs involved

With the current cost-of-living crisis, we’re happy to announce the fee for an individual salary and wage return will remain the same as previous years, while our joint salary and wage return will increase slightly for the first time in several years.

The costs for the FY23/24 financial season are:

  • Individual salary and wage return: $255 including GST
  • Joint salary wage return: $470 including GST

Making tax return appointments

The Nortons Business Advisors team will introduce its new ‘Drop and Go’ model from Monday, July 29.

This date allows plenty of time for employer records/private health annual reporting etc to be filed with the ATO. These documents are critical to the successful completion of client tax returns, which is why we won’t be accepting any records until July 29.

Please get in touch with us to schedule your FY23/24 tax return, and to determine the best method for supplying records to complete your single or joint returns.

If you’ve already booked in your salary and wage income tax return, we will be in touch to discuss the changes and arrange a suitable time for you to deliver your records to us.

If you have any questions relating to the upcoming tax season or our new ‘Drop and Go’ model, please email hello@nortons.com.au. You can also send any information/receipts for your FY23/24 salary and wage income tax return to hello@nortons.com.au.

We look forward to providing you with simpler, more efficient tax returns that make the EOFY easier than ever.
